Meet the Katy Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Katy
The crew working Katy and the surrounding neighborhoods came up through the same school: commercial access control. Most of our techs spent years wiring gates on office complexes and apartment properties before Adrian Vance started putting them on residential driveways in 2014. What that means for you is simple. The person at your gate has already fixed a hundred gates like yours, dealt with the same motor you have, and has seen the same failures enough times they can spot the cause from the driveway. They also show up in a clean uniform, with a name badge, and before they touch a single bolt, you get a written price. Every tech on this page works under Haven Standard Clause 1, and none of them will start a job without it.
Our People
Marcus T. - Lead Technician, Residential Gates
Marcus has been with Vance since 2016, and before that he spent eight years on commercial access-control installs across Houston. He’s the tech we send when a gate has a mechanical problem that three other companies couldn’t diagnose. His specialty is swing-gate geometry: hinge wear, sag corrections, and the slow-motion failures that happen when a gate post shifts half an inch over a hot summer. Marcus holds a factory certification for LiftMaster and FAAC operators, and he keeps the torque specs for BFT and DoorKing arms in his head rather than flipping through a manual. Outside work, he rebuilds old Honda motorcycles and claims the patience required is exactly the same skill set.
Sofia R. - Senior Installer & Welder
Sofia joined in 2018 from a structural welding background, and she handles the fabrication side of the business: cracked gate frames, broken hinge plates, and full gate installations where the existing posts won’t take a standard bracket. She welds MIG and stick, cuts with plasma, and has built driveway gates from raw steel on more than two hundred jobs. Her specialty is matching new gate sections to existing ironwork so the repair doesn’t look like a patch. Sofia handles the site-measure for most installations in Katy: she brings the written breakdown of post depth, gate weight, and motor compatibility before any material gets ordered. She’s the one who will tell you honestly whether a gate is worth repairing or if the steel has fatigue-cracked past the point of sense.
Daniel H. - Service Coordinator & Motor Specialist
Daniel is the voice on the phone at two in the morning, because Vance doesn’t run a voicemail loop. He’s been with the company since 2015 and started as an apprentice, so he can talk through the problem before the truck rolls: he’ll ask what the motor sounds like, whether the gate stops mid-travel, what the keypad lights are doing. His specialty is access control: keypads, intercoms, vehicle-loop detectors, and the wiring between all of it. Daniel holds factory training for Linear, Viking, and Ghost Controls systems, and he builds the wiring diagrams we file on every commercial job. He also schedules every residential call and keeps the parts van stocked, which means he knows exactly what’s on the truck and whether we can finish your repair the same day.
Jacob W. - Apprentice Technician
Jacob started in 2024 and is working through his second year of supervised field training. He rides with Marcus and Sofia, handles tool staging and photo documentation, and is learning the diagnostic sequence on all nine brands we service. His first independent repair under supervision was a misaligned photo-eye on a Viking operator in Cinco Ranch: the beam was off by roughly two inches, and Jacob caught it on the first pass, then photographed the correction for the job record. He’s the one who builds the documentation packet you get on every visit, the photo log and written part numbers that go under Haven Standard Clause 4. Outside work he’s studying electronics at night, and he takes apart every dead gate control board he can get his hands on.
One Standard, Every Job

What holds this crew together isn’t a mission statement. It’s a set of working rules. The price is written before the job starts, and it doesn’t change at the end. Every visit produces a photo record of what was found, what was adjusted, and what was replaced. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every tech on this page: if a repair isn’t right, Vance makes it right, no argument and no fee within that year. Those rules come from Adrian Vance’s time on commercial sites, where a gate failure means a security breach and accountability matters. The team in Katy works the same way as every Vance crew across the network: one standard, no shortcuts, and documentation you keep.
